Review: iPod Touch 4th Generation by Apple

I got my iPod around 2 months ago and have been waiting to make this review just to see how well it could last, and it's been doing just fine. In this review I am going to go over a few things. First, the build and durability. Second, how its looks. Third, the new features from the iPod Touch 3rd Generation. And finally, the overall pros and cons of it.

Build and Durability
As I said earlier, I have had the iPod for about 2 months. Let me tell you, I have dropped it many times. It falls off my bed, out of my pocket, and even fell down some stair! Through all of this my iPod still works great. I would however recommend a case, as I have one and I think some credit for surviving all of the falls should go to my Skullcandy case also. The iPod is much more durable then I expected. I thought that a thin piece of metal and glass, or whatever material they use for the screen, would break very quickly when dropped, but I was wrong. In the end, if you don't throw it out windows, off cliffs, and other bad places to throw an iPod, then you should be okay. Everyone is going to have those moments where they aren't paying attention and drop their iPod, luckily Apple made it able to withstand these clumsy mistakes!

Style
Once again, Apple blew me away with how the iPod looked. The sleek chrome back looked outstanding, as well as the new thinness to it. The camera in the front and back fit right in, like they are meant to be there. And it's something I'm not ashamed to be carrying around! It fits in most my pockets with the thin new design, and can easily be taken out! The only thing which isn't really a pro or con is the chrome back. I love how sleek and plain amazing it looks, but it scratches EXTREMELY EASILY. If you get this iPod a recommend getting a case too, and right as you take it out of the packaging to put the case on. This stops the chrome from getting scratched. Overall, great looking iPod, only thing is the chrome back. Maybe next time give it something like the iPad back.

New Features
It is outstanding how much has been changed to make the iPod 4 so much better than the iPod 3. First feature I'm going to write about is the new camera! The camera isn't as good as I had hoped, but it is still an improvement! I Facetime and Skype a lot on my iPod. It would be nicer if the camera was a little bit clearer, however you aren't meant to be using the iPod as a professional camera, so the camera is good enough for me! The second feature is how the iPod's "Retina" display. Before I got my iPod I looked on Apple's site (http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/features/retina-display.html) and saw how much clearer it is supposed to be, I didn't believe it. When my iPod arrived I compared my iPod 3 and 4 and the iPod 4 had an incredibly better display! Everything from games to web-pages were a ton more clear. I only talked about two features, but I feel those are the two most important ones. All in all, the iPod 4 was amazingly better than the iPod 3. I would definitely say to upgrade if you have the iPod 3 at the moment.

Pros and Cons
After going over the new iPod I would positively recommend it. Everything about it is wonderful except for the camera, and chrome back. However those two things aren't very important if you have a case and don't really care how great the photos you take come out. The iPod Touch 4th Generation is truly something extraordinary. It is only $229 from Apple for the 8gb version, and I think that is quite a deal.
